Glycolic Acid Peeling

Glycolic Acid Peeling

Glycolic acid is fruit acid extracted from sugarcane, sugar beets and unripe grapes.
Due to its excellent capability to penetrate the skin, glycolic acid is used for anti skin aging. Glycolic acid will improve the skin's appearance and texture.

This glycolic acid also finds it's way in normal skin care products you can buy from the store, but these usually contain only a concentration of maximum 10%.
We, as a cosmetic surgery clinic, can use this product in concentrations of up to 80%.

Reduces wrinkles, improves skin conditions

A glycolic acid peeling:

Once applied, the glycolic acid reacts with the epidermis, which is the outermost layer of skin, and weakens the binding properties of the lipids that hold the dead skin cells together. This allows the outer skin to "dissolve" revealing the underlying, healthier, smoother, brighter-looking skin.

Synergy with your natural repair system

Glycolic acid works in synergy with your skin's natural repair system.
It enhances the formation of collagen and mucopolysaccharrides.

Collagen is protein found naturally in the human body, it is co-responsible for skin strength and elasticity, and its degradation leads to wrinkles that accompany aging.
It also strengthens blood vessels and plays a role in tissue development.

Mucopolysaccharrides are found naturally in the skin, they help to bind moisture to the skin and provide superior hydration.
